Sign-ups are trickling in, and we'd love to have more. We promise not to bite, and to find betas and hold your hand if things are going pear-shaped. In fact cupidsbow has a fantastic post on the process of remixing that should give everyone confidence that they can discover a new take on an old story. So read the rules and sign up. You can send email to lotrips.remix at gmail, or just copy and paste the information inside the form and leave it as a comment to this post. Looking forward to seeing your messages! If you've ever read a story and thought: "If I were telling it, I would do it differently", or even "I wonder what that other character was thinking?", then this challenge is for you. Just like musical remixes, this project aims to show how differences in vision and style can cast light on stories in a whole new way. Based on the original "We Invented The Remix" and the multi-fandom "Remix... Redux", the Lotrips Remix aims to give fandom authors the chance to expand their horizons by rewriting one of the stories of a fellow author. And having one of theirs rewritten in turn. First, I want to apologize for being so slow about getting the remix started. *grovels a bit* I'm really sorry. Second, this is a shadow of the LJ community, and I'll crosspost here. If LiveJournal is going to reject fandom, we may be on track to rejecting them. Third, I have a couple of proposed changes I'd like feedback on: * Allow variations in the beginning of the remix, so it could start further back or partway through the original story. The end would have to stay the same. * Allow AUs of original stories. * Provisionally allow single-fandom people to enter, if the matching works Do these changes work for all of you? Can you see any problems with them? Thanks! |
